You don’t always have to wear the newest must-haves and fanciest things to create an interesting look. Sometimes all you need are cool basics and timeless high quality accessories. An easy denim look is my favorite. All-denim? Definitely yes! Take a look at my new outfit.
Denim on Denim
As with many things, the key to pulling off a denim look, is keeping things simple and finding the right balance. I have always been a denim girl. From classic jeans to jean jackets – denim is one of my favorite materials. I love timeless pieces as well as such with a special twist. For today’s look I went for a dark workwear inspired shirt and a pair of super easy lighter jeans. I really like the way the two different shades of denim perfectly work together and enhance each other.
My look in details
You can never go wrong with a denim shirt. It is such a versatile piece. You can easily dress it up or down and wear it for almost every kind of occasion. I decided to go for this super cool Odeeh shirt. It is a key piece of the current fall/winter collection and I absolutely love it. Odeeh has deliberately managed to design a collection in a way, that it doesn’t only show a self-contained look, but rather the opportunity to play with individual pieces. My new workwear shirt from the 20s was reinterpreted, using differently attached breast pockets and collars. It is such a cool and contemporary take on a classic denim shirt. I love the oversized fit, the dropped shoulders and its classic dark blue color.
As I mentioned above, balance is key, when wearing an all-denim look. Boyfriend jeans meet flared fit : I recently found my new pair of jeans at Dorothee Schumacher. They have a high waist, a wide leg and a slightly flared fit. The expressive light wash and the darker stitchings set a stylish statement.
A pop of luxury
My Hermès Kelly bag is one of my favorite wardrobe staples. It’s classic, timeless and always elegant. I love the way you can immediately enhance a basic look by choosing luxury accessories. I recently spotted this beautiful vintage Hermès belt via Vestiaire Collective and instantly fell in love with it. It perfectly shapes my silhouette and creates a nice feminine contrast to the rather rough denim material. Timeless bags don’t always have to have a neutral color. SometimesI really love to set vibrant highlights and go for a bold color instead. Choosing a red bag immediately creates playfulness and fun.
