Tie-dye for Spring

// by

Spring and summer 2019 will be loud and extremely colorful. I already told you that yellow will be a big thing this season. However tie-dye is currently taking over and will be THE major must-have for fashion lovers. The hippie pattern from the 70’s celebrates its big comeback this year and I am more than ready for it.

The new tie-dye

The Proenza Schouler Spring 2019 ready-to-wear-collection is already dominated by beautiful tie-dye business looks and cool bleached-out acid wash. Prada has started to sell a tie-dye Sidonie bag and some of the well-known high street brands are slowly taking after them, too. The pattern will be interpreted in many new and exciting ways this year. What was originally associated with hippies in the 70’s has developed into something big, way beyond DIY T-Shirts. You will find the pattern everywhere this season and yes, you will definitely be able to even wear some of the pieces to work. Silk blouses, blazers, skirts and coats, there is nothing that could not be decorated with the tie-dye pattern. However, the iconic tie-dye sweater, classic jeans and high heel outfit still works best.

How to wear the pattern

At first I was a bit skeptical, but I have to say, pieces with tie-dye patterns are surprisingly easy to combine. There are only a few things to bare in mind. The right styling is the most important: keep the rest of the outfit simple, choose timeless pieces and definitely never go for a mix of patterns. After all, we all want to look sophisticated and stylish.

My look in details

This amazing Balmain pullover was love at first sight. It is such a unique piece and simply perfect for a layed-back tie-dye look. It has a slightly oversized fit, in shades of blue, made from a luxury blend of wool and cashmere. I decided to style the pullover with a pair of classic white Re/Done jeans. They are the perfect balance to the eye-catching sweatshirt. Black bags and shoes round off my look and create an harmonious picture. If you don’t own a Boyy bag yet, hurry up and quickly get your hands on the new it-bags.
